  • Where are Fifth Wheel Installation Rails Placed in Bed of 2008 Ford F-350
  • The instructions call for the rear rail to be placed first, with it's rear edge 32-1/2 inches forward of the rear edge of the truck bed (not the rear edge of the tailgate) as shown in the provided diagram. I've linked you to the installation instructions for the Reese # RP30035 which is Reese's version of the universal fifth wheel hitch installation kit as I was unable to access the instructions for the Curt # C16101. Both install kits are identical and install in the same exact manner....

  • Timbren Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F-250
  • I spoke to my contact at Timbren, I explained your situation and they said that in your situation you could go ahead and use the Timbren System part # TFR250SDF. The mounting bracket is the same as the # TFR250SDG with the only difference being the 1 inch spacer included with the # TFR250SDF. Before you do this I would recommend you go out and double check the measurements you took on your truck. I attached an install video for you to check out also.

  • The TowReady 7-Way/4 Pole Replacement Trailer Connector # 74682 you referenced will fit your 2005 Ford F-250 with factory tow package. This combination trailer connector plugs in to the factory wiring using a round U.S. car connector and provides both 4-pole flat and 7-way blade style connectors for flexibility in connecting to a variety of trailers. This part comes complete with a mounting bracket and hardware. The entire harness overall measures 14-inches from end to end; the wire loom...

  • Determining if 2012 Ford F-350 Has OEM Rail Kit and Hitch Recommendation
  • It does appear your 2012 Ford F-350 has a hitch installed in it. It's hard to identify by looking at the sides of the brackets that you sent in a picture of, but if you check out the picture I attached you can see what the OEM rail kit pucks would look like if they were present on your truck. Since you said there are "screws in the bed" I believe that is what you are referring to. If you have a short bed truck you'd need a slider hitch to provide you with the needed turning clearance....

  • Determining if 2014 Ford F-250 Has OEM Rail Kit for B and W Gooseneck Hitch
  • I attached a picture of what the OEM rail kit/hitch prep package of your 2014 Ford F-250 would look like if you had it with the # BWGNXA2061 installed as well. If you see the pucks or round openings in the bed of your truck this kit would work but if not you'd need the Turnoverball kit # BWGNRK1111.

  • Best Trailer and Truck Backup Camera Combo On My 2006 Ford F-250
  • I recommend getting a backup camera as it will save you a lot of time and hassle, I remember when I used to get in and out of my Tahoe 4-5 times just to get the ball lined up or make sure I'm clearing whatever obstacle is in my way when backing up. Having a backup camera will eliminate having to do that which is why I highly recommend it. There are so many options to pick from and in my experience having a permanent mounted camera is more work than it could be. Especially for the longer...

  • Troubleshooting Installation of Hopkins Impulse Trailer Brake Controller in 2006 Ford F-250 SD
  • If your Hopkins Impulse Time-Delayed Trailer Brake Controller # 47235 was installed using a quick-connect harness rather than being hardwired, then I would start the troubleshooting process by applying a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to each pin on your F-250's 7-way. Disconnect your trailer and have a helper on hand activate the brake controller while you apply the tester to the 7-way on your truck. By disconnecting the trailer, you will first confirm that the unit is functioning independent...

  • 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Needed to Tow 38 Foot Landmark Grand Canyon w/ 2012 Ford F250
  • The best option is to use the correct hitch for the correct trailer and avoid using an adapter. The 5th wheel to gooseneck adapters, for the most part can be hard on the frame of a 5th wheel. Certain frame manufacturers will void the frame warranty if an adapter is used, but Lippert who is probably the largest frame manufacturer out there says that the Reese Goosebox is an approved method of towing a 5th wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch without causing undue stress on the frame. None...

  • 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendations for a 2011 Ford F350 with UnderBed Rails
  • Since you have the factory underbed rails on your 2011 Ford F350 you would want the Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # RP30144 if you have a short bed. (Slider hitches are required for use on short bed trucks to ensure 90 degree turn capability.) Or, if you have an 8 foot bed you would want the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921. Both of these hitches are the nicest ones on the market, would work well to provide you with the best towing experience...

  • Tapping into 7-Way on 2004 F-250 for Stop, Turn, Tail Light Signals for Headache Rack
  • Since you need to retain the use of the 7-way at your rear bumper for towing while having the same lighting signals available near the cab for your headache rack, one option to consider is using a 5th wheel harness such as # 41157 from Hopkins. This plug-in harness provides on one end dual round U.S. Car connectors in a Y-arrangement that allow you to tap into your existing 7-Way (while keeping all of its functions active for your tow rig). On the other end of the 8-foot cable is a standard...

  • Will a Husky Roller 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter
  • The Reese Elite Series adapter for Ford trucks with OEM 5th wheel prep package, # RP30156, will accept your Husky slider 5th wheel trailer hitch. The adapter has the same slot measures front to back and side to side as the industry standard rails (minus the inner most set of slots at 10 inches apart). The outer most slots are 29 inches apart and the next set in are 20-1/2 inches apart all on center.

  • Is Welding or Drilling Required to Install a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in a 2000 Ford Super Duty Truck
  • There is no welding required to install the Pro Series 5th wheel trailer hitch and installation kit # PS30129. But you will need to do some drilling to install the installation kit. There will be drilling through the bed and into the frame rails of the truck. The kit used is the Reese universal kit # RP30035. I have linked the instructions to the right showing how it will install. The instructions for your 2002 Ford Super Duty will be sheet 10 or 11 of 21 depending on the specifics of...

  • Comparing Curt 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kits for a 2014 Ford F-250 Short Bed
  • The difference between Curt 5th wheel trailer hitch installation kits # C16424-104 and # C16424-204 is just the finish of the rails. Kit # C16424-204 has a carbide finish making it more flat or matte black. Kit # C16424-104 has a gloss finish making it more shiny. But you can bet that considering what it is and wear its going it will not stay shiny for long. Curt hitch # C16541 is just the hitch and slider base. The installation kit is sold separately and it will fit in either kit since...

  • How To Fix 1" Gap After Installing Timbrens On a 2000 Ford F-250
  • The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFR150SDE which is a fit for a 2000 Ford F-250 is designed to produce around 1/2" - 1-1/2" gap. It will still work to reduce sag/squat with a gap but not till the threshold of the suspension is reached. Some prefer more of a buffer than others since the ride can be rougher when engaged. Nevertheless, you can use the spacer part # A25723-90AH00 for 1" or part # TA25722-90P00 for 1/2" to close the gap.

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2011 Ford F-250 Towing Toy Hauler with Weight Distribution
  • This sounds like a situation that a suspension enhancement would do wonders for. Even though you're using a great weight distribution system, sometimes it's not enough to remove all of the squat when towing a heavy trailer. I noticed that you were looking some solutions similar to the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR250SDG, and those would be acceptable, but they're going to provide a much harsher unloaded ride so I typically only recommend those for trucks that are towing...
